Channelle and Stuart’s Wedding at Maritime Chambers North Shields
13 September 2025Weddings
The North Tyneside Registry Office was the setting for a beautiful wedding as Channelle and Stuart exchanged vows, with their special day featuring a delightful vintage 1976 VW Campervan, affectionately known as 'Poppy'.
Poppy's journey began by making a stylish first trip, chauffeuring the mothers and bridesmaids to the ceremony. The vintage van then returned for its most important journey, bringing a radiant Channelle and her father to the venue.
Unfortunately, just as the van was arriving, the skies opened up with a sudden, heavy downpour. Luckily, the rain ceased as soon as the bridal party was safely inside, allowing the ceremony to proceed with no further weather worries.
After the couple said their "I dos," guests were thrilled to see the charming campervan, with many expressing their admiration. The happy couple and their wedding party took advantage of the dry weather for photos with Poppy outside the registry office.
The celebrated VW then performed two more trips, ferrying the newlyweds and their party to the stunning reception venue, The View in Tynemouth. The short journeys provided a final opportunity to enjoy the retro charm of the van before the reception celebrations began.
We send our warmest congratulations to Channelle and Stuart on their marriage and wish them a lifetime of happiness together.

6 September 2025Weddings
The beautiful Hedworth Hall was the setting for a perfect wedding day as Cali and Scott tied the knot, with their transport provided by a much-loved vintage 1976 VW Campervan.
The day began with the iconic campervan chauffeuring the groom, Scott, and his party on a scenic drive to the venue, adding a touch of laid-back charm to their arrival.
Next, it was the turn of the bridesmaids. However, a slight delay occurred as guests were still gathered outside, and the bridesmaids were keen to maintain the element of surprise. In a moment of quick thinking, the driver provided an impromptu "mini-tour" of the town, allowing ten minutes to pass before returning to the venue for a grand entrance.
The final and most anticipated trip was for the bride herself, as Cali and her father were collected and brought to the venue to meet a waiting Scott.
Throughout the day, the weather was wonderful—nice, warm, and dry—providing a perfect backdrop for the celebrations. The vintage VW Campervan proved to be a huge hit with everyone, drawing smiles and admiration from guests who couldn't get enough of its classic style.
The unique transport and thoughtful planning added to the memorable occasion for Cali and Scott. We send our warmest congratulations to the happy couple and wish them all the best for their future together.

31 August 2025News
Our beloved vintage 1976 VW Campervan, affectionately known as 'Poppy,' made a memorable appearance at the Ushaw Classic Car Show, proving to be a star attraction despite a slightly bumpy start to the day.
The morning began with unexpected delays, as road closures and even a faulty petrol pump threatened to disrupt our journey. However, the fantastic weather—a perfect mix of dry air, sunshine, and a cloudless blue sky—more than made up for the initial hiccups.
On the half-hour drive down to Durham, the journey itself became part of the adventure. We were soon joined by other classic vehicles heading to the same event, forming an impressive and unscheduled convoy that turned heads all the way to the show's entrance.
Upon arrival, the scale of the event was immediately clear. The show field was bustling with visitors and almost overflowing with an incredible mix of classic cars, from vintage sports models to American muscle. The vibrant atmosphere was a testament to the thriving classic car community.
'Poppy' was set up for display in full wedding trim, showcasing its potential as a charming and unique wedding car. The effort paid off, as the van proved to be incredibly popular. Visitors flocked to take photos of 'Poppy' and showed great interest in its use for weddings, with many people picking up our leaflets.
The day was a huge success, celebrating a shared passion for classic vehicles and confirming that 'Poppy' remains a firm favourite with the public. We look forward to the next show!

Adding a unique touch to their celebration, a vintage 1976 VW Campervan was secretly booked to handle the wedding transport, kept under wraps from the eager guests. The day began with the charming campervan chauffeuring members of the bridal party to the church. It then returned to collect a radiant Jane and her father for their journey to the altar.

The weather, a mix of sunshine and looming dark grey rain clouds, thankfully held off throughout these exciting moments.
